If there are more AutoCAD products installed you need to make sure the desired\u00a0product is the one you had last started before\u00a0starting elMaster Design. Assuming you always want the same version and\u00a0product there are settings to make switching applications easier.<\/p>\n<h4>Settings for MasterConcept<\/h4>\n<p>The configuration of what application to start is found among\u00a0the document settings; <em>Administration<\/em> &gt; <em>Settings<\/em> &gt; <em>Document<\/em> &gt; <em>Document type<\/em>. Go to the tab <em>Document Start<\/em> and look for the columns <em>External Application<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Switches<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_434\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.idesglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/external_application_switches_2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-434\" class=\"wp-image-434 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.idesglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/external_application_switches-300x65.png\" alt=\"External Application &amp; Switches\" width=\"300\" height=\"65\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-434\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Currently using AutoCAD 2015 while trying out 2016.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The column <em>Switches<\/em> works very much the same way as adding switches to a program shortcut. The following switches are supported both as shortcut and document start setting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\/product\u00a0<\/strong>is passed on to AutoCAD and accepts the same input as the native AutoCAD switch. It expects a\u00a0product <a title=\"AutoCAD startup switches\" href=\"http:\/\/knowledge.autodesk.com\/support\/autocad\/troubleshooting\/caas\/sfdcarticles\/sfdcarticles\/Startup-switches-for-AutoCAD.html\">shortname<\/a>\u00a0like; ACAD, ACADM, MEP<\/p>\n<p><strong>\/acadver<\/strong> accepts version as written in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/AutoCAD#File_formats_and_versions\">name<\/a>\u00a0of the vertical;\u00a02014, 2015, 2016. Version numbers on format\u00a0R19.1 are currently not supported. Please note that support for this switch\u00a0was intruduced in 12.2.2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\/p<\/strong> is the native AutoCAD switch for profile. For some starts you may have to refer to an existing profile to get the desired environment. If no profile is specified AutoCAD will be launched and AutoCAD will continue using which ever profile is current.<\/p>\n<p>When setting external application to MasterDesign the Design profile is\u00a0loaded by the document start and there is no need to specify profile.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Settings\u00a0for stand alone elMaster Design<\/h4>\n<p>The switches above are supported by\u00a0stand alone elMaster Design by editing the shortcut adding the desired switches.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_441\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.idesglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/shortcut.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-441\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-441\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.idesglobal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/shortcut-300x182.png\" alt=\"Shortcut with switches\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-441\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Shortcut with switches<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Depricated<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Edited. The tags described below are depricated from 12.3 and the above alternatives are\u00a0 recommended.
